Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan suffered a speed breaker on Sunday night when he got Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor to share the sofa.
Why these two? What do they have in common besides that awful flop from Yash Raj named Daawat-e-Ishq? If you thought that film was the pits, the Koffee session featuring the Daawat duo was hardly an improvement. Not that the duo was not trying. Oh , they tried hard to let us know they are buddies. And they probably are. But in this case their personal equation didn’t render itself into a lively half an hour of give-and-take between the host(who got progressively desperate to perk up proceedings) and the guests(who were so enamoured of their mutual affection that they forgot they were on the show to communicate their camaraderie to viewers).
So what was the takeaway from the show? Parineeti’s weight-loss? Mercifully Johar didn’t waste time discussing the most frequently discussed Parineeti Chopra topic. Instead we got a chance to know how much Varun Dhawan annoys her because of his supposed selfcentred. “Talk about me me me!” he tells Parineeti when she would rather be the centre of her own universe.
I guess it takes one egocentric to recognize another. We also got to know that Aditya Roy Kapoor had nothing to do with Shradha Kapoor(not in THAT way) and Parineeti had nothing to do with director Maneesh Sharma(not in THAT way), that bith Aditya and Katrina are intimidated by Katruna, that Katrina bullies Parineeti to push harder at the gym.
I am not too certain why the other one gets intimidated by Katrina. Like most other things that Roy Kapoor expresses, this point too was ambiguously stated.
Come to think of it, this segment of KWK with Karan was the vaguest I’ve seen in the 99 episodes of the talk show’s existence so far(yes, the next episode is the 100th and the guests are [tooltip id=”88b6af99531f838ed90aed058b7d870a”][tooltip id=”c1b465420d07c688942ed18eadfd9f92″ keyword_color=”#000000″ background_color=”#ffffff”][tooltip id=”4db8f5608d45f5de7881d9bce162f4bf”]Salman Khan[/tooltip][/tooltip][/tooltip] and his two brothers).
Aditya also let Karan(and us) know that if he had to give up either sex or acting for one year he would rather go without acting.
Good option, Aditya. Because in any case the other option is not worth exploring in your case. We can also live without your acting. So we’d rather that you don’t live without sex.
