Parineeti Chopra On  Her Passion For Singing, Is It Goodbye To Playback Singing?

Parineeti Chopra has  only one project on hand, and that’s Yashraj Films’  Meri Pyaari Bindu. The shooting has come to a grinding halt as her Parineeti’s leading man is away.

But Parineeti is very happy with her co-star. “Ayushmaan was away on his  concert tours. But we did shoot for a month before he left

It’s going really well. Ayushmann has turned out to be a fabulous co-star. It’s not as if we don’t know each other. Ayushmann and I have hosted a lot of shows and endorsements and co-hosted events. But doing a film together is another ball game.And he has turned out to be absolute delight.”

Parineeti has found a new best friend. “Yes, I think Ayushmann is going to be a friend for life.We are very similar .I enjoy his company.I’m having great fun.We’re both singers and we are constantly  singing in the sets.”

Parineeti plays a girl who is passionate about singing. “Music and singing are very important to my character.And it’s very important to me personally.In fact many of my colleagues today Shradha, Alia, Ayushmann, Aditya,Ranveer are musically inclined.”

Luckily audiences don’t mind Parineeti and her collegaues’ singing. “We are so glad that the audiences are open to all  kinds of new talent and they’ve accepted us.Somehow actors dancing is considered normal. But when we sing people are surprised.I am so glad we’re all doing what we love doing and what’ve grown up doing, namely singing and dancing.I mean isn’t it the most natural thing for us actors sing our own songs since we would understand our emotions better than a playback singers?”

But Parineeti is quick to point out that playback singers are in a different league. “We’ve some terrific playback singers. Even in Meri Pyaari Bindu Ayushmann and I won’t sing all the songs  ourselves. Just a couple. But I am very excited.Singing is my passion.”

Parineeti is also very excited about her next project. “I’ve signed Homi Adjania’s Takadum . I get to work withSushant Singh Rajput  again. We had fun doing Shudh Desi Romance. Takadum is an intense love story. This film too is music-based. So I think music is now an integral part of my career.”

So did Parineeti say no Mahesh Babu’s Telugu film for Takadum? “No no. There are so many films that are offered to us. It’s unfortunate that producers talk about actors being in their films before any papers are signed properly. But I’d love to work with Mahesh Babu. Even his wife Namrata is so lovely. I’d love to work with them.”
