Park Min Young personally suggested 'Marry My Husband' Lee Yi Kyung's guest role in 'Confidence Quee

Actress Park Min Young, who is set to lead the upcoming K-drama Confidence Queen, shared her thoughts about reuniting with her Marry My Husband co-star Lee Yi Kyung.

On September 1, Park Min Young attended the press conference for the upcoming K-drama Confidence Queen, which was held at the Stanford Hotel in Seoul.le

Park Min Young explained that she chose this new K-drama as her follow-up to Marry My Husband because her new role, focused on getting revenge, was an appealing contrast to her previous character, who was always the victim.

When asked about the cameo roles in Confidence Queen, actress Park Min Young praised her Marry My Husband co-star, Lee Yi Kyung, for his willingness to participate. She revealed that she personally recommended him for the part, saying, “The reason I recommended Lee Yi Kyung for the special role was because of one line in the script, ‘A man in narcissism is defecating in the bathroom while singing Lee Ji’s ‘Emergency Room’.”

She added that she wondered who could portray such a specific and comical scene, and she immediately thought of Lee Yi Kyung, noting his talent for comedic acting and believing he was the only one who could truly pull it off.

Park Min Young also shared details about her relationship with Lee Yi Kyung, mentioning that the actor who played her “trash husband” in the K-drama has become like a wonderful younger brother to her in person.

Park Min Young made everyone at the press conference laugh when she was asked if her new K-drama character got revenge, and she replied, “I’ve finally gotten rid of my past.”

Confidence Queen will showcase the journey of the “Confidence Men,” the three-credit scammers who extort money from people by any means with bad intentions, such as evil companies, mafia bosses, and more. The story will be depicted from the 2018 Japanese drama The Confidence Man JP.

The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Nam Ki Hoon (Big Bet and Destined with You) and writer Hong Seung Hyun (Criminal Minds).

Aside from Park Min Young, Park Hee Soon, Joo Jong Hyuk, Hyun Bong Sik, Woo Kang Min, and Kim Han Jong will also lead the series.

Confidence Queen will begin airing on September 6 at 9:10 PM KST. It will have a total of 12 episodes. The K-drama will exclusively be available on Prime Video, Coupang Play, and TV Chosun.
