Peacemaker Season 2: Top DCU Cameo Predictions Ranked by Likelihood

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Peacemaker season 2, episodes 1-4

As we heard toward the back half of Peacemaker Season 2, I’m expecting some pretty big DCU cameos. Big appearances have been teased since the show’s premiere, which did feature its fair share of characters connected to the greater DC Universe envisioned by James Gunn. However, we’ll likely be seeing some big names before the finale reaches its end.

Whether it’s major DCU superheroes, metahumans connected to ARGUS, or future DCU stars teeing up future projects, the final episodes of Peacemaker season 2 feel ripe for some surprise appearances. Here are the biggest possible DCU cameos I’m hoping for in Peacemaker season 2, ranked not just by hype, but by how likely they are actually to show up.

Clayface

Having been responsible for Rick Flag’s back injury (referenced in Peacemaker season 2, episode 4), it’s possible that we could end up seeing Clayface by the season’s end. After all, bits of Clayface were discovered by John Economos and Amanda Waller by the end of 2024’s Creature Commandos.

It stands to reason that the Batman villain might have been placed into ARGUS custody before he could reconstitute himself. A brief appearance could also be a cool way to tee up the upcoming Clayface movie releasing next year.

Eric Frankenstein

While not an official member of ARGUS’ Task Force M, David Harbour’s Eric Frankenstein considers himself to be a friend and kindred spirit of Rick Flag Sr. While not the most likely candidate, it’s hard to deny that a live-action appearance wouldn’t be pretty cool in the final episodes of Peacemaker season 2.

The Bride

The Bride in Creature Commandos Episode 5

The new leader of Task Force M, Indira Varma’s The Bride is another exciting option for a DCU cameo. Especially if Rick Flag Sr. and ARGUS keep failing to bring in Peacemaker, perhaps Rick will make a call to his old teammate, and perhaps even the entire roster (which does have some fresh faces as seen in Creature Commandos’ finale).

Lex Luthor

At the end of James Gunn’s Superman, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor was exposed as a traitor, having allied with the nation of Boravia to invade Jarhanpur (along with creating a devastating rift thanks to his unstable pocket universe that nearly ripped Metropolis in half).

By the movie’s end, it was said that Luthor was being hauled off to Belle Reve, the same super-max prison controlled by Amanda Waller and ARGUS, housing prospective candidates for Waller’s Task Forces.

Keeping that in mind, a potential visit to Belle Reve by the end of Peacemaker season 2 could easily show us Lex Luthor in his cell ahead of 2027’s Man of Tomorrow, the Superman sequel, which we already know will see the Man of Steel joining forces with Lex Luthor to take on a much bigger threat.

Mister Terrific

Mister Terrific was briefly shown during the DCU-approved recap of Peacemaker season 1, along with the rest of the Justice Gang.

However, Terrific was notably missing during the show’s first episode when Peacemaker was being interviewed for a spot on the team by Maxwell Lord, Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl. Perhaps this is because a bigger appearance from Mister Terrific is still yet to come.

It’s also worth noting that the original DC Comics universe did see Terrific in a romantic relationship with ARGUS’ Sasha Bordeaux, having made her DCU debut in Peacemaker season 2 as Rick Flag’s right-hand agent running point on bringing Peacemaker down.

Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern

Having already been featured twice, it’s quite possible that Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner could make a brand-new appearance in Peacemaker season 2 beyond the premiere. After all, the DCU’s Lanterns series is right around the corner, and we know that Guy’s Green Lantern is confirmed to be a part of the upcoming series.

Perhaps an all-new appearance from Guy’s Green Lantern could help set up 2026’s Lanterns, while also fleshing out Gardner’s past with Chris Smith’s Peacemaker (which was teased in the season 1 recap).

Hal Jordan & John Stewart

In that same vein, it would be very exciting to see Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern and/or John Stewart. With Lanterns right around the corner, it’d be pretty cool to see the veteran and rookie Green Lantern duo make their DCU debut ahead of time in Peacemaker season 2.

Currently, we don’t know much about the plot, other than the fact that Hal and John will be investigating a murder that took place on Earth. Perhaps we could see them interacting either with Guy Gardner (who’s presumably more Earth-based than they are) or even collaborating with Rick Flag Sr. and ARGUS.

At any rate, some sort of connection or cameo to the upcoming Lanterns series would be very exciting heading into the back half of Peacemaker season 2.

G.I. Robot

The predominant theory heading into these final episodes is that the alternate DC Universe Peacemaker discovered is not all sunshine and roses as it appears on the surface. Instead, it’s widely expected that this parallel Earth will be revealed as Earth-X or some sort of equivalent reality where the Nazis won WWII.

This would certainly explain the lack of diversity when Chris Smith visits this other dimension in Peacemaker season 2, episode 3, as well as why his father is so nice and loving as a beloved hero along with his sons, having been a Nazi white supremacist in the main DCU as seen in Peacemaker season 1 before Chris killed him.

Keeping all that in mind, no DCU hero loves killing Nazis more than G.I. Robot, a member of Task Force M who received a brand-new body in the finale of Creature Commandos, despite having been blown up by the Amazonian sorceress Circe earlier in the season.

Especially if this theory is proven to be true, no DCU cameo would fit better than if Rick Flag calls in G.I. Robot to visit a reality full of Nazis (it would literally be G.I.’s dream).

Seeing as how G.I. Robot was voiced by Sean Gunn in Creature Commandos, one can easily see him pulling double duty by voicing a live-action G.I. Robot as well, having already played Maxwell Lord during Peacemaker’s interview.

It might also explain why Sean Gunn was a little more tight-lipped when asked if we would be making any future Peacemaker season 2 appearances beyond the premiere.

Superman

Having already appeared once in the DCU recap of Peacemaker season 1, it’s quite possible that Superman could make an even bigger appearance by the season’s end.

After all, Peacemaker made a cameo in James Gunn’s Superman. It’s only fitting that David Corenswet’s Man of Steel should return the favor with some kind of meaningful appearance in Peacemaker season 2.

It’d be hilarious if Superman arrives too late to save the day again, much like in the first season when the Justice Gang arrived too late to stop the Butterfly Invasion, as it had already been taken care of by Peacemaker and the 11th St. Kids.

Amanda Waller

Despite having been absent all season, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller is arguably the most likely candidate to make a major cameo appearance by the end of Peacemaker season 2.

While she’s yet to appear on-screen, Waller has been referenced several times already, as she’s apparently facing court hearings after her daughter outed Waller’s Task Force programs, and Rick Flag Sr. is now running ARGUS in her stead. She also made sure to blacklist Emilia Harcourt from the entire intelligence community on her way out.

That being said, there’s absolutely no way that Amanda Waller is gone for good, especially considering the upcoming Waller series that’s currently in development. As such, it would be very exciting if the final episodes of Peacemaker season 2 saw Waller’s return while laying the foundation for an inevitable comeback in the new DCU era.

New episodes of Peacemaker season 2 release Thursdays on HBO Max.
