Early Life and Education
Peter Rosenberg was born on July 23, 1979 in Chevy Chase, Maryland. His mother worked as a schoolteacher, and his father worked on Capitol Hill for various Democratic members of the House and Senate. He is Jewish. Rosenberg attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and was introduced to hip hop by his older brother. For his higher education, he went to the University of Maryland, College Park.
Radio Career
In the summer before starting college at the University of Maryland, Rosenberg began hosting the late-night underground hip hop show “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn” on the campus radio station WMUC-FM. During this time, he used the DJ name PMD, an acronym for ‘Peter From Maryland.’ After graduating from college, Rosenberg worked as a DJ at a number of radio stations in the Washington, DC area, including WPGC and WHFS. In 2007, he was hired by Ebro Darden at the New York City hip hop station WQHT Hot 97, where he later began co-hosting the weekday morning program “Ebro in the Morning” with Darden and Laura Stylez. On the show, the hosts play hip hop and R&B music, interview musical artists, and talk about everything from sex to racial politics. Also on WQHT Hot 97, Rosenberg hosts the Sunday-night show “Real Late with Rosenberg.” Elsewhere, on New York City’s WHSQ, he co-hosts the afternoon drive show “Don, Hahn, & Rosenberg.”

In 2008, Rosenberg hosted the hip hop interview series “Noisemakers,” and in 2012 he hosted the MTV2 game show “Hip Hop Squares” for both of its two seasons on the network. He went on to host another hip hop interview series, “The Process,” in 2013. Guests on the series included Raekwon, Prodigy, Future, and Azealia Banks. In 2014, Rosenberg starred in the VH1 series “This is Hot 97,” about the lives of the employees at WQHT Hot 97. A few years later, he co-hosted the WWE Network show “Bring it to the Table.” Since then, Rosenberg has appeared as a panelist on many professional wrestling pay-per-view shows. As a pre-show panelist at the Royal Rumble in early 2021, Rosenberg pinned R-Truth to win the WWE 24/7 Championship, a title he held for just one day.
