Phil Robertson Health Update: Son Provides Alzheimer’s News
“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson’s son has provided an update on his dad’s journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Jase Roberton opened up about his dad’s condition on the April 2 episode of his podcast, “Unashamed With the Robertson Family.”
“Jase, Al, and Zach give an update on Phil and Miss Kay, who continue to keep the spark of hope and love alive despite the challenges they—and the Robertson family—face,” the podcast caption reads. “The guys reflect on the Christian view of the afterlife, and Jase shares a funny moment when he preached Phil’s own sermon back to him. Plus, a song on the radio from 38 years ago sends them into a deep dive of 80s nostalgia.”
Jase Robertson Says That His Dad Is Not Doing ‘Good’

“The No. 1 question I get everywhere I go: ‘How’s your dad doing?’” Jase Robertson said. “Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth: I say, ‘Not good.’”
According to USA Today, the family’s “Duck Dynasty” show will return to A&E in the summer.
The Family Matriarch Kay Robertson Is Also Going Through Health Struggles
GettyAccording to USA Today, the family matriach, Kay Robertson, 77, is recovering from a fall.
“For my mom, it’s been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good,” Jase Robertson said on the podcast. “We were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it,” he said in the episode, adding that “that’s what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close there, so it was difficult.”
According to AL.com, Phil Robertson has suffered a series of health setbacks. In addition to the Alzheimer’s Disease diagnosis, he is recovering from a “blood disorder and fractured vertebrae in his back,” the site reported.
Phil Robertson has not posted to his Instagram page since 2024.
In March 2024, he wrote, “Miss Kay has been in the hospital this month, and both of us can’t wait for her to be back home. She’s doing better, and she’s as ready to be out of the rehabilitation facility as I am to have her back with me.”
He added, “There was a time when I had drifted so far into the clutches of the evil one that I didn’t think it would be possible to find my way back from the bottle to Miss Kay and our boys. I kicked them to the curb, and at any sign of shame or guilt, I scurried back to the darkness so the light wouldn’t shine on my sins.”
