Prince Harry is a highly sought-after speaker on the convention and conference circuit, but an upcoming gig reportedly has some critics scratching their heads.
The Duke of Sussex is headlining the OREA Powerhouse convention on December 1 in Toronto, Canada. There aren’t many details on the website, but the schedule lists his appearance as “An Exclusive Conversation With Prince Harry.” The vague description is probably what is sending his critics into overdrive in questioning his financial state.
“What expertise does Harry have in Ontario housing policy? It feels like he’s become an extremely expensive cameo,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.
A second source described it as “rock bottom” because it doesn’t appear to align with his platform about “mental health, veterans’ issues, or global outreach.” Still, one glance at the website offers more insight into what the conference hopes to accomplish. Power House “is one of Canada’s best political affairs conferences,” and given Harry’s activism, it feels like it is in his wheelhouse in terms of advocating for others.
Even though the Duke of Sussex likely has high security and legal bills to protect his family after leaving his official duties at the palace, Celebrity Net Worth has him in a solid state of financial health. They believe he’s worth around $60 million from his inheritance from Princess Diana, his real estate portfolio, including his home in Montecito, California, and his former Spotify and Netflix deals.
A contrary report in The U.S. Sun noted that the couple is “being smart with their money” and their investment in a Portugal estate might be for rental purposes to generate income. There is no proof that either Harry or his wife, Meghan Markle, is running out of cash.
Even if their Hollywood production plans don’t pan out, including their renewed “first-look deal” with Netflix, Harry will always have the speaking circuit to lean on. His presence will always be in demand where he reportedly commands over $1 million per appearance. There are plenty of people who want an A-list name like Prince Harry on their roster, even if it sounds like an unlikely place for his voice to be heard.
