Prince William & Kate Middleton’s U.S. Visit May Be Setting up a ‘Huge’ Reunion

The United States is going all-in for the 250th birthday celebration in 2026, and it looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton are getting an invite to the party.

The royal duo is set to head to the U.S. in July to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, per Page Six. Does that mean a long-awaited royal reunion will be in the works for the feuding William and Prince Harry?

Well, not so fast, according to the outlet’s sources, even though it’s expected to be a “huge year for both the US and the UK.” The insider noted: “Obviously, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t working royals, so they will not be invited to any celebrations. Any invitation would have to come at the behest of the royal family themselves.”

It’s no secret that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are happy California residents — a plane ride from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. only takes about five hours. Still, the brothers reportedly haven’t spoken since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. Palace insiders are also reminding everyone that their rift began long before Meghan Markle ever entered the picture.

The fracture apparently began in 2010, ahead of Prince William’s engagement to Kate, where he bestowed Princess Diana’s 12-carat Ceylon sapphire ring to her. Harry confirmed in his 2023 memoir, Spare, that he was not the owner of the ring after his mother’s death, but he might have had “regrets” about not fighting for the coveted piece of jewelry.

“If you trace the feud back to its true beginning, it’s the ring. That’s where everything quietly snapped,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.

So, the reunion in July will be between the Prince and Princess of Wales and Donald Trump instead. The president’s second state visit to the U.K. in September drew headlines for his comments about Kate’s “radiant” appearance — it was reportedly an uncomfortable situation for her.

”Duty is always first for Catherine and the family,” a NewsNation source claimed in September. “Personal feelings or humiliations can be put aside for the good of the country.”

And now, it looks like William and Kate will be further enhancing their soft diplomacy roles in July with a Donald Trump reunion.
