Production Begins on ‘All of Us Are Dead’ Season 2 With Original Cast Returning

Netflix has officially announced that production is underway for the second season of the young adult zombie hit, “All of Us Are Dead,” which first captivated global audiences in 2022.

Based on Joo Dong-geun’s legendary webtoon, the first season became a breakout success, racking up over 560 million viewing hours in just 28 days and securing a spot in Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English series of all time.

Netflix first confirmed a second season on June 7, 2022, following the overwhelming global response. That same year, “All of Us Are Dead” was the most-searched K-drama on Google, highlighting its immense popularity and cultural impact worldwide.

Returning to lead the new season are the original survivors of the Hyosan High outbreak — Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon. Their characters, Nam On-jo, Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok, left a lasting impression on fans as they battled through chaos, loss, and transformation.

Season 2 follows Nam On-jo (Park Ji-hu), now a university student in Seoul, still grappling with the trauma of the Hyosan tragedy. When a new outbreak strikes the city, she must once again fight to survive — this time without the friends she once relied on.

One of those friends, Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young), was last seen in season one seemingly sacrificing himself, leaving his fate uncertain and fans longing for closure.

Meanwhile, anticipation builds around how Cheong-san, Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun), and Su-hyeok (Lomon) are coping years after the first outbreak. Their continued presence anchors the sequel — or the mystery of it — providing emotional weight and continuity for longtime viewers.

Joining the cast are Lee Min-jae (“Weak Hero: Class 2”), Kim Si-eun (“Squid Game” season 2), Roh Jae-won (“Squid Game” seasons 2 and 3), and Yoon Ga-i. These new characters — university seniors and intelligence agents — bring fresh dynamics as the virus spreads beyond Hyosan to new grounds.

“All of Us Are Dead” season 2 is helmed by returning directors Lee JQ (“Daily Dose of Sunshine”) and Kim Nam-su, with Chun Sung-il (“King the Land”) once again penning the script.
