Another incredibly exciting brand new SBS K-drama will be making its way to Netflix in September 2025, the crime thriller Queen Mantis, which stars Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon. Here’s everything we know about Queen Mantis on Netflix.
Queen Mantis is an upcoming internationally licensed South Korean Netflix Original crime thriller series directed by Byun Young Joo and written by screenwriter Lee Young Jong. The series is one of many SBS k-dramas coming to Netflix after the streaming service signed an incredible output deal with the South Korean network at the end of 2024.
When is Queen Mantis coming to Netflix?
We can confirm that the first episode of Queen Mantis is coming to Netflix on September 5, 2025. In South Korea, the series will be broadcast on the network SBS.
There will be a total of 8 episodes, with brand new episodes releasing on Friday and Saturday. This means the finale of Queen Mantis is scheduled for September 27, 2025.
Each episode will have an approximate runtime of 70 minutes.

What is the plot of Queen Mantis?
After brutally murdering five men over 20 years ago, Jung I Sin was given the nickname Mantis. Her son, Cha Su Yeol, has grown up to despise his mother and has chosen a career as a police officer in order to stop serial killers like his mother. However, one day, a strange murder takes place, seemingly a copycat of Mantis. To find and capture this new killer, Cha Su Yeol must enlist the help of Jung I Sin.
Who are the cast members of Queen Mantis?
Go Hyun Jung plays Jung I Sin. The actress has starred in two Netflix K-dramas, Mask Girl and Reflection of You. In both dramas, she played leading roles. She even had a bit part role in the Netflix zombie horror Alive, seen as one of the zombie victims. Outside of Netflix, she has starred in K-dramas such as Return, Dear My Friends, and The Queen’s Classroom.

Jang Dong Yoon plays Cha Su Yeol. The actor has starred in Netflix K-dramas such as Like Flowers in Sand and Daily Dose of Sunshine. Outside of Netflix, he is most well-known for his roles in dramas such as Oasis, Search, The Tale of Nokdu, and Just Dance.

The two remaining lead roles are Cho Seong Ha and Lee El, who play Choi Jung Ho and Kim Ha Nui, respectively. Cho Seong Ha’s only roles on Netflix to date were in supporting roles in Captivating the King and Navillera. As for actress Lee El, she was one of the leads of the 2022 K-drama My Liberation Notes.
