Raima Sen, who will be seen playing role of a criminal lawyer in her next film, has just shifted into her new, spacious dream house, in the same building as her parents and located in Juhu. But people hardly know that Raima, may be an actress by profession but is an interior designer at heart.
She has designed the décor of the new house from scratch and gave it much time and effort to make this her home. The entire interior of the 4BHK apartment with two hallways and a den, has been done up by Raima herself.
Raima tells us, “I always wanted to have my own dream house where I would take care of the entire detailing of my house. A house would turn into a home when you have your family along too. And what else could I ask for! I’m thankful to the existence, it feels extremely positive and there so much warmth and peace here. I also have a walk-in wardrobe which I require as I am a big time shopaholic.”

Explaining why she and her mother Moon Moon Sen have bought a new flat in the same building, Raima says, “Now I have two houses in the same building. I am very close to mom, but I loved this flat and thought it’s a nice space of my own to have. Mom also comes and stays there. It’s a sea-facing flat and the scenery is fabulous.”

Raima didn’t use the skills of a professional interior designer. Talking about doing it up herself, Raima says, “I have no experience in interior designing but I learned a lot from my parents. They are forever travelling and picking up stuff from everywhere. I just wanted to keep it simple. I kept it white since it is a sea-facing house and as we have huge windows that makes it more spacious than before. All four of us including my sister Riya, designed it together. I gave a few ideas, Riya gave a few and the rest was by mom.”

The Bong beauty has had most of her home accessories and decorations flown in from antique stores in Calcutta. “Some are from Mumbai and a few from Delhi. When we travel we pick up small paintings, fans, sofa and all small stuff. My favourite corner is my room as it’s sea-facing. I love to sit on my favourite arm chair and read, another spot is the den where I watch Netflix endlessly. My favourite deck is the lights – they are different in each room and make each room look unique.”
