Raima didn’t use the skills of a professional interior designer. Talking about doing it up herself, Raima says, “I have no experience in interior designing but I learned a lot from my parents. They are forever travelling and picking up stuff from everywhere. I just wanted to keep it simple. I kept it white since it is a sea-facing house and as we have huge windows that makes it more spacious than before. All four of us including my sister Riya, designed it together. I gave a few ideas, Riya gave a few and the rest was by mom.”
The Bong beauty has had most of her home accessories and decorations flown in from antique stores in Calcutta. “Some are from Mumbai and a few from Delhi. When we travel we pick up small paintings, fans, sofa and all small stuff. My favourite corner is my room as it’s sea-facing. I love to sit on my favourite arm chair and read, another spot is the den where I watch Netflix endlessly. My favourite deck is the lights – they are different in each room and make each room look unique.”
