It has come to light that S S Rajamouli, one of Indian cinema’s most successful directors , has contributed a paltry Rs 10 lakhs to a charity fund being raised to help Corona victims in the Telugu film industry , and that meager amount too has been contributed in collaboration with producer D VV Danayya.
Sources in the Andhra industry are appalled at Rajamouli’s misplaced sense of charity.
A major producer in Telugu cinema who wishes to remain unnamed says, “Considering his directorial fee per film is lose to 60 crores, this is a huge embarrassment for all of Rajamouli’s fans are supporters . One can only hope he has some other plans for helping the Telugu film industry during this time of crisis.”
Charity , on the other hand, is not something that can be forced out of an individual. 25 crores, 19 lakhs or 500 rupees, it should be voluntary and not made public.
