Rajkumar Santoshi To Launch daughter

Neckdeep in unfinished  projects, the one-time  successful  filmmaker  Rajkumar Santoshi is all set to launch his daughter in a project titled Gandhi Versus Godse .

The  film is adapted from the  controversial  play  Asghar Wajahat’s Godse@Gandhi.Com . The provocative  play which brings Gandhi and his killer  Godse face-to-face is likely to  raise a  hornet’s nest   on screen for trying to  “humanize’ Gandhiji’s assassin.

We  wonder  what  Santoshi’s daughter  would  have to do in a film where she plays neither of  the  protagonists. Theatre  actors Deepak Antani and  Chinmay Mandlekar who essayed  the roles of Gandhi and Godse on stage have reprised their  parts in Santoshi’s  film.

Incidentally, Santoshi’s daughter Tanisha is  best friends with Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor. Sridevi  and Santoshi’s wife Manali were also close friends. Perhaps launching Tanisha in  a Boney Kapoor production would have been  a better idea.
