Rajnikanth-Akshay’s Robot 2 To Take On Baahubali 2

Provided civilization survives to see this, we will witness the simultaneous release of  two of the biggest films of 2017 on Friday April 14.

S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion which is the eagerly awaited followup film to the massively successful National award winning Baahubali:The Beginning will make it into theatres on April 14, which is Tamil New Year and also Good  Friday.

The announcement was made in the beginning of March amidst speculation that the other monster-epic of 2017 Shankar’s 2: 0(Robot 2) will also release the same day. However it was felt by most trade experts that the collective wisdom of the Robot team would prevail and prevent this potentially catastrophic clash.

But now it seems  the supreme war of the two sequels is on, after all. According to reliable sources  the makers of 2: 0 have decided to go ahead and release their film on April 14, alongside Baahubali: The Conclusion.

“Why not? The mother language of Baahubali is Telugu while Robot is in Tamil. The clash will not be headlong. And it’s a long weekend beginning April 14. Long enough  to accommodate two big films,” says a source close to the Robot team.

However trade experts are of the opinion that this clash would be as damaging as the clash between Sanjay Leela Bhansal’s Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale last Christmas.

“One of the two biggies is bound to suffer,” is the chilling prediction of  a trade pundit .
