Ranbir-Anushka‘s Deleted Tribute To Mohd Rafi & Shammi Kapoor Falls Flat

Here’s why  the big Shammi Kapoor tribute in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was dropped.

It sucked.

Ranbir Kapoor who plays a Mohd Rafi fan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is seen doing what he thinks is a tribute to Rafi Saab and the iconic Shammi Kapoor.The  title song  from Shakti Samanta’s  An Evening In Paris composed by Shankar-Jaikishan  was chosen   for the homage  and acquired from Saregma-HMV for a  huge amount of  money. Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka  decided to dance  to their own  choreography.

The result is a  mess on screen. No wonder Karan Johar decided to drop the Shammi Kapoor homage from the film altogether,

Says a source close to the development, “It was meant to be a highlight in the  film.Ranbir tilting his hat to his  grand uncle. It went all over the place in Paris. It ended up looking like Befikre without  the swag. Karan decided to drop it.”

Incidentally a  much better homage to Shammi Kapoor’s dancing was done by Shahid Kapoor in Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahani
