Ranbir To Bulk Up For Sanjay Dutt, Refuses Prosthetics

Ranbir Kapoor, as we all know,loathes accessories , add-ons, or enhancers of any kind.

For his role as Sanjay Dutt in Raj Kumar Hirani’s  bio-pic Ranbir would need to look at least 30 kgs bulkier than his  current lean physique.

Ranbir, it seems, is all set to do a Dangal. Rather than use prosthetics to look as beefy as Sanjay Dutt did in his 40s and 50s, Ranbir will actually add the kgs to his physique required by the character.

Says a source close to the project. “Ranbir  really believes that girth can add worth to the performance.He is a firm believer in natural, accessory-free performances, in every part of his life be it in front of the camera or elsewhere. The real Sanjay Dutt’s weight has gone through wild fluctuations  from the time he made his debut inRocky , through his drug problems then the jail periods when he grew fearfully flabby. Director Raj Kumar Hiranisuggested that Ranbir should use weight-enhancing prosthetics. Instead, the actor will bulk up for real like AamirKhan in Dangal to look like Sanjay Dutt.”

Ranbir will not only add the oodles as per the role’s requirement ,at no no point will he use artificial accessories to look like Sanjay Dutt.

And that includes the various hair styles that Dutt sported over the years. Ranbir will be seen sporting all of them at various stages  of the character’s life.

That’s what we call a  sporting performance.
