Rangasthalam Movie: The first Ram Charan-starrer to gross over Rs 200 crore!

The undisputed box-office king of the Telugu Film Industry!!

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan has yet again proved that he is the undisputed king of the telugu film industry. His latest film Rangasthalam was released when the industry was going through a slum and was witnessing low footfalls in theatres. The movie set the cash registers ringing right from the word go and is continuing its rampage, thus providing some respite to the hit-starved industry. Rangasthalam, a period drama set against a village backdrop in the 1980’s, revealed an all new Ram Charan to the audience, where he portrayed a deaf village character for the first time in his career. His performance received all round applause from critics and movie lovers alike. Upon its release Rangasthalam received critical acclaim with particular praise for Ram Charan and Samantha’s performances, Devi Sri Prasad’s music, Sukumar’s direction and screenplay, and the production values.

Times of India gave 4/5 rating and says “Watch it especially for Ram Charan and his stupendous performance, Sukumar’s direction, Rathnavelu’s cinematography and DSP’s background score.”

First Post gave 4/5 rating and said “In Ram Charan we find a brand new actor, and in Sukumar we find a master storyteller who is relentless in his approach to push himself.”

IMDB gave a rating of 9.2/10 which is same as God Father.

Rangasthalam has gone on to break all the existing box office records and collected a gross of over 200 crores and is continuing its strong run at the box office. Rangasthalam is the only film other than Baahubali franchise in this exclusive club. This feat is made all the more special as this revenue generated from a single language release, Telugu. Rangasthalam has registered record collections in overseas markets as well with this film being the first to breach the 3.5 Million dollar benchmark. This goes to prove that a good film with great performances and good technical values can become a blockbuster even without CG effects. The Telugu Industry has made another significant mark in the world with this film.

With strong trade enquiries pouring in from all quarters, the makers are now planning a pan India dubbed release in all major Indian languages and also a Chinese release this summer. Rangasthalam is directed by Sukumar who is renowned for his brand of different films. Mythri Movie Makers have produced this film. Distributors and Exhibitors are more than content with the success this film has brought to them. The rural &native background, amazing performances have reflected in repeat audience, making this the biggest blockbuster of 2018.
