How Did Ranveer Get Away With Calling Vaani Kapoor A  ‘Slut?

The censor board won’t allow you to call a woman a ‘bitch’ more than once. But it’s ok to call her a ‘slut’.

In Aditya Chopra’s foul-mouthed Befikre Ranveer Singh not only calls his co-star a ‘slut’ but he also accuses her   of sleeping with a large number guys in Paris.

The original words were, ‘Kitne ladkon ke saath soyi hai’ . This, in the wise revisionist opinion of the CBFC was altered to ‘Kitne ladkon ke saath masti ki hai.’

In other words(pun intended) Soyi hai is synonymous with Masti ki hai…sleeping with anyone  is great fun. Yipee.

But the meaning is loud and clear.

The girl is a slut. Or so Ranveer’s character Dharam says.

Strangely  he is allowed to use this extremely offensive word against his co-star, although he can’t call her a ‘bitch’. Not thrice anyway. Using their weird logic again the word ‘bitch’ has been replaced by ‘witch’ twice but  Ranveer has been allowed to use the ‘b’ word once.

So, let’s get this right. It’s okay to call a woman a ‘bitch’ once, but no more than that? And it’s ok to refer to her as a ‘slut’?
