Rebecca Loos Reignites David Beckham Affair Scandal in Celebrity Survival Show Comeback

After 16 years out of the spotlight, Rebecca Loos has made a controversial return to television on the survival reality series “Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins“. The show, which began airing its seventh season on August 3 on Channel 4, pits 14 celebrities through grueling military-style training modeled after the British Special Air Service (SAS) selection process.

Rebecca Loos, now a certified yoga instructor born in 1977, was cast as one of the contestants. However, she remains best known for her past as David Beckham’s former personal assistant—and alleged mistress—during his time playing for Real Madrid in 2003.

While Beckham has never publicly acknowledged the affair, Loos has appeared numerous times in media over the years recounting the relationship. She once attempted to leverage the publicity into a showbiz career but eventually retreated from the limelight in 2009 to focus on family life.

In 2023, the scandal resurfaced in the “Beckham” Netflix documentary. Although the film avoided naming Loos directly, it touched on how the affair rumors affected Beckham’s marriage and public image. The documentary’s success reignited public interest in the story—and Loos herself.

Since then, Loos has made occasional TV appearances, criticizing Beckham for maintaining a carefully curated public image while, according to her, avoiding responsibility. At a cast event for “Celebrity SAS” in late July, she accused the football icon of presenting a “perfect persona” that didn’t reflect reality.

“I look back at my 20s and feel it was unfair that my life was hell, while his just kept getting better. It still feels that way,” she said. Loos expressed frustration over how the media painted her as “a liar” and “a slut”, despite acknowledging her role in the scandal. She admitted to having an affair with a married man—her boss at the time—but stated she refuses to stay silent about being treated unfairly.

“That documentary took zero accountability,” she continued. “When he said it hurt him to see his wife in pain, I thought, ‘Mate, maybe think about what you actually did.’”

Asked if she had moved on from the pain of the past, Loos replied, “I just roll up my sleeves and keep going. Everything I’ve been through brought me to where I am now. It’s made me stronger. ‘Celebrity SAS‘ showed me I’ve still got something to give.”

Despite her self-reflection, Loos’ decision to repeatedly bring up the Beckham affair has drawn backlash. Viewers criticized her for using a decades-old scandal as a promotional tool, with many calling her attention-seeking and lacking accountability.

Comments from the public included: “It’s shocking that she hasn’t changed one bit. She still acts like a bitter opportunist”, “She slept with a married man and then complains about being treated unfairly?”, “She’s made a career out of someone else’s marriage for 20 years and still plays the victim” and “If she wants better treatment, maybe she should behave better.”

David Beckham, as usual, has remained silent on the matter. While his former assistant prepares for a new career chapter, the father of four is currently enjoying a lavish $21 million yacht vacation in Saint Tropez with his family and friends.

On July 30, the Beckhams were seen embracing affectionately on the deck. The only strain in David’s life at the moment seems to be his reportedly distant relationship with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.
