Red Velvet's Ye Ri will reportedly join Song Kang Ho's new K-drama 'Insiders'

Red Velvet Ye Ri‘s first official K-drama after leaving SM Entertainment will possibly be the thriller crime series Insiders.

On May 30, media outlets reported that Ye Ri will be added to the cast lineup of the upcoming K-drama Insiders, which Hive MediaCorp and PlusM will produce. 

Ye Ri’s new agency, Blitzway Entertainment, responded to the casting reports. According to them, “Actress Kim Ye Rim (her real name) did receive the offer to star in Insiders and she is positively considering it.”

This K-drama will possibly be the idol actress’s first K-drama project under Blitzway Entertainment. She recently signed with the agency after parting ways with SM Entertainment. Her solo activities will be managed by them. 

Aside from Insiders, Ye Ri will also return as Baek Je Na in Bitch x Rich Season 2. She will work alongside Lee Eun Saem, Lee Jong Hyuk, Yoo Jung Hoo, Jang Sung Yoon, and Park Shi Woo

Insiders offers a broader perspective on the world introduced in the 2015 film Inside Men, which was led by Lee Byung Hun, Cho Seung Woo, and Baek Yoon Shik. The series is set in the 1980s and 1990s,  and it will tell the stories of insiders. Main lead Lee Gang Hui becomes a key player who directs and commands the forces that rule South Korea.

The upcoming K-drama will be led by Song Kang Ho, Koo Kyo Hwan, Lee Sung Min, Park Soo Ae, WJSN’s Bo Na, and Shin Seung Ho

The role that was offered to Ye Ri has not been disclosed yet. 

The K-drama will be the joint work of director Mo Wan Il (The Frog and The World of the Married) and writer Lee Ki Chul (Alienoid, Escape from Mogadishu, and The Thieves).

Insiders will reportedly air within the year.
