Riteish Deshmukh and Milap Zaveri quietly patch up during an international awards event

After more than a year of barely exchanging civilities with one of his closest buddy’s, writer-director Milap Zaveri, Riteish Deshmukh finally patched up with him last week at New York City in US. The two had a fallout last year before Milap’s directorial adult comedy Mastizaade released in January.
Riteish had felt that the film’s makers and Milap was using him for publicity and taken to Twitter to strongly protest against it. While both would wish each other on their films on social media, Riteish felt let down by Milap and would maintain a studied silence when asked about him. But now all’s well as the two bonded once again like long-lost friends in NYC at the IIFA awards.

Says a source present there, “Milap had written the script for the show IIFA Rocks on July 14 which was hosted by Manish Paul and Riteish at the MetLife Stadium in New jersey. The ice was broken before that as Riteish and Milap met to discuss the script during the day. They even had breakfast at Russ & Daughters in NYC on July 14 and after that again explored the city together on July 16. Milap is extremely fond of Riteish as they go back many years and it was a relief to have him back as a friend again. Riteish had acted in Milap’s directorial debut Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010).”

Last year Riteish had claimed that the makers of Mastizaade had used him in the promotions even though he has just two scenes in the movie. On Twitter he had expressed his disappointment and written, “I am part of 2 scenes and a song in Mastizaade – nothing more. I am requesting the makers again- Please honour our agreement. Disappointed with Mastizaade. It’s shocking to see them blatantly use me in their promotions. Absolute breach of my contract-agreement and trust.”

All’s well that ends well – at least between the two buddies Milap and Riteish.
