Omung Kumar’s Sarbjit is building up into a well-anticipated bio-pic on a true-life incident that shook the nation’s conscience. Considering the political and humanitarian  gravity of the theme it came  as a surprise to read suggestive stories trying to link the film to [tooltip id=”88b6af99531f838ed90aed058b7d870a”][tooltip id=”c1b465420d07c688942ed18eadfd9f92″ keyword_color=”#000000″ background_color=”#ffffff”][tooltip id=”4db8f5608d45f5de7881d9bce162f4bf”]Salman Khan[/tooltip][/tooltip][/tooltip] who has nothing, repeat nothing, to do with the film.

According to the reports a part of the story in Sarbjit supposedly concerned SalmanKhan. In  2012 Salman had campaigned on twitter to free the real-life Sarbjit Singh from jail in Pakistan where he was confined for 23 years for alleged spying.

The film is about Sarbjit’s sister’s struggle to get him freed.

And,says the film’s director Omung Kumar, the Salman episode was never a part of the script.

Says Omung, “This is just not true.We don’t know who started it, or why. Salman’s campaign to free Sarbjit was never part of our script.Ever! So where is the question of deleting an episode that was never in our film?  We don’t know who started this nonsense.”

We can say with certainty that neither Salman Khan’s team nor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s family and friends are the least amused by these attempts to associate  their names with one another.

Says a mutual friend of Aishwarya and Salman, “Neither Salman nor Aishwarya wishes to have anything to do with one another.
