Sanjay Leela Bhansali To direct  Hindi Version Of Magadheera

Phantom, the producers of some of the most talked-about films in recent times, are all set to do a  Hindi version of S S Rajamouli’s 2009 Telugu costume drama Magadheera.

And the director chosen to translocate the film about reincarnation revenge and retribution is Sanjay Leela Bhansali whose forte is the lavish epic drama.

Says a source close to the development, “It was felt by the producers that no director butSanjay Leela Bhansali could do justice the epic scale  of Magadheera. The film’s budget is expected to be approximately Rs.120 crores, which is higher than what Bhansali’s last epic drama Bajirao Mastani cost to make.”

Incidentally Magadheera’s original director S S Rajamouli doen’t want to direct the Hind remake. He had earlier said no to a Hindi version of  the Telugu hit Vikramarkudu which was remade into Hindi as Rowdy Rathod . The Hindi version of Vikramarkudu was produced by Sanjay Bhansali
