Saroj Khan Supporting Jacqueline’s Ek Do Teen Is Like Ramesh Sippy Supporting RGV’s Sholay

What could have possibly prompted superstar-choreographer Saroj Khan to come forward to give her “blessings” to a universally vilified ‘homage’ in the new film Baaghi 2  to her iconic dance number Ek do teen in Tezaab.

 Till the  other day the temperamental  Ms Khan was so upset that she refused to comment on  it. In fact  she told director N Chandra(the maker of the film Tezaab in which Madhuri Dixit danced her way to superstardom with the Ek do teen number) that she won’t allow this hideous homage to go scotfree.

Now she seems to have changed her mind. Posing for pictures with Ahmed Khan and Ganesh Acharya , the choreographers responsible for the desecration of the original number, she seems happy enough endorsing the sub-standard homage.

What happened? Did we miss something here?

Apparently, Saroj  Khan and Madhuri Dixit were both  ‘coaxed’  by the team behind Baaghi 2 to support what they saw as a homage.

“While  Madhuri Dixit politely declined to praise Ganesh Acharya and Ahmed Khan’s effort Saroj Khan got taken in by the sweet-talking. Ganesh and Ahmed met her personally and persuaded her to be supportive. Emotional as she is, Sarojji decided to pose happily with the new Ek do teen team, though it does look a bit like Ramesh Sippy praising Ram  Gopal Varma’s Sholay, ” says a  source.
