Selena Gomez Surprises Fans With a Sweet Collaboration

Singer Selena Gomez announced Tuesday she has a new collaboration cooking up in the kitchen that just so happens to be with Oreo.
Gomez spoke with People about how it was a no brainier decision to partner with the iconic brand.
“Like most people, I’ve loved Oreo cookies for as long as I can remember and so when I was approached to collaborate on my own flavor it was something I couldn’t say no to doing,” she told the outlet.
The limited edition cookie will have two different layers of cream, according to Oreo’s website. The first being a blend of chocolate and cinnamon and the other will be a sweetened condensed milk cream with some cinnamon sugar.
The layers will be sandwiched between two chocolate cinnamon flavored cookies.
Nostalgia Played a Huge Role in Developing the Cookie
Gomez told People the cookie should taste like one of her favorite drinks from childhood — horchata. The refreshing Mexican drink normally has a cinnamon-vanilla flavor to it.
“Growing up, horchata was one of those comforting things for me. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve drinking horchata with my family — it was one of my favorite drinks,” she said. “I really wanted to bottle up that memory and share it through this cookie.”
She added a tip for those who wish to try the cookie when it hits shelves in a few weeks.
“And trust me, it tastes even better dipped in milk,” Gomez added. “That really brings all the flavors together.”
The Oreo Will Come in 6 Different Designs
The cookie will come in six different designs with one featuring her signature, per Oreo’s website.
The other designs include a music note, a heart surrounded by a flame, a beating heart and a set of headphone. The final design is a nod to her fans with a music note with the word “Selenators” around it.
The “Same Old Love” singer also shared a series of images with her new partnership on Instagram. She included one throwback image of herself about to dunk a classic Oreo in a glass of milk, showing her longtime love for the iconic brand.
The “Only Murders in the Building” actress continued to gush over the collaboration and thanked fans for their continued support.
“Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait for everyone to try it!” she wrote.
The cookies are set to be available for online presale starting June 2, with the tasty treats hitting stores on June 9, according to People.
