Reports of a security personnel’s gun going off at Shatrughan Sinha’s residence Ramayan in Mumbai has reverberated in a section of the press on Sunday.
But the man of the house is unaware of the missed-catastrophe at his mythologically named abode.
“Come again?” Shatruji wants the news to be read out slowly to him, as the new is….well, news to him. “I am not in Mumbai. I am in Kerala for an event. I haven’t received any news from my family about this so-called incident. Gun goes off at my residence should have resonated in my ears. The fact that no one in my family called me about it proves it is not an incident worth talking about.”
The irrepressible Shatrughan Sinha who is currently in Kerala to receive an award for recognition for his work as an actor and politician at Alappuzha says he steered clear of politics while receiving the award.
“I was happy to share the platform with Shashi Tharoor and H D Kumaraswamy. Can you believe this? In my hour-long speech, I made no mention of anything political. I gave a purely motivational speech and I am proud of it. It’s time politicians stopped doing and talking politics. It has become a murky game. Time for politicians to play the role of social activists,” says Shatrughan Sinha.
