Gully Boy rapper Siddhant Chaurvedi has ably wrapped up the ongoing debate on nepotism in the film industry .
In an interview with Rajeev Masand featuring the most promising newcomers of 2020 star-daughter Ananya Pandey whined and cribbed about being called out for nepotism when her father Chunky Pandey had never done a Dharma Production or appeared on Koffee With Karan.
Apparently Ananya believes that being in a film produced by Karan Johar and on his celebrity chat show are the hallmark of stardom for any individual for who wants to succeed. Curiously all the other newcomers on Rajeev’s roundtable agreed with Ananya in her contention that star-children have it no easier than outsiders, except Siddhant Chaturvedi who replied, “The difference is , jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi inka struggle shuru hota hai (their struggle begins where our dreams are fulfilled).”
A befitting summing-up of the nepotism debate, though a bit ironical considering Siddhant is now doing a Karan Johar-Dharma production where his co-star is Deepika Padukone.
