Bittu Sharma Turns Into Kappu…Drunken Daadi Becomes Blind Naani….
You read this here first. The Kapil Sharma Show which kicks off on April 23 with a live recording of a concert featuring joyous jugalbandi between Kapil and Shah Rukh Khan held in Delhi earlier this week, will then move on to normal hour-long episodes.
And here are details on who’s going to play what on the show. While the rest of gorgeous giggle brigade will slip into various avatars, Kapil will no longer play a journalist who invites various stars to his home.
Says a source from the team , “Kapil is now a jobless youngster named Kappu and the rest of the team are his neighbours. The set will represent a whole mohallah rather than one home. Kapil will keep running into stars on the street.”
Interestingly Asgar Ali, the drunken Daadi from Comedy Nights With Kapil transforms into a blind Naani on The Kapil Sharma Show.
Says the source, “Asgar’s Daadi act will disappear, since we can’t possibly repeat any of the original acts. He will now play a Naani who is blind but who can see a lot more than those with eyesight.”
Sunil Grover and Kiku Sharda who played Gutthi and Palak will be donning various male and female avatars over the episodes.
“The viewers want to see them as female characters. So they will play women. But also very prominent male characters. Sunil Grover plays a doctor named Dr Mashoor Gulati in the second episode, ” says the source.
