Song Kang Ho will return to the movie industry after three years through the upcoming film The Gardeners.
On September 11, it was officially confirmed that Song Kang Ho will join hands with director Nam Dong Hyeop in the upcoming movie The Gardeners.
The Gardeners will revolve around a civil service worker who enjoys growing plants and gardening. When he gets into massive debt, he decides to team up with a local troublemaker. The two then begin a gardening business, turning their calm and quiet neighborhood into a chaotic one.
Song Kang Ho will portray the role of Choi Young Il. He is an ordinary civil service worker whose hobby is growing plants.
The Gardeners will be the next project of director Nam Dong Hyeop. This will be his follow-up film after the hit 2024 film Handsome Guys, led by Lee Sung Min, Lee Hee Joon, Gong Seung Yeon, Lee Kyu Hyung, Park Ji Hwan, and Woo Hyun.
The upcoming film has already begun its pre-production. According to reports, The Gardeners will begin filming in 2026.
This will be the comeback of Song Kang Ho to the film industry after three years. He last starred in the 2023 film Cobweb, which also featured im Soo Jung, Oh Jung Se, Jeon Yeo Been, f(x)’s Krystal Jung, Park Jung Soo, and more.
Last year, Song Kang Ho made his official debut on the small screen through the series Uncle Samsik. He worked with Byun Yo Han, Lee Kyu Hyung, Jin Ki Joo, Seo Hyeon Woo, and Oh Seung Hoon.
Meanwhile, Song Kang Ho was supposed to lead another upcoming K-drama, Insiders, with Koo Kyo Hwan, Lee Sung Min, Park Soo Ae, WJSN’s Bo Na, Shin Seung Ho, and Red Velvet’s Ye Ri. But due to a conflict in schedules, he had to step down from the series.
