Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood has beaten Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to become the most tweeted-about Bollywood actor in 2021
Sonu Sood says he is elated. “Of course it feels wonderful. I feel nice about being able to connect with so many souls. So many people keep sending me their blessings on Twitter. And the network of people who care about my humanitarian work has spread through Twitter. I like that.”
The actor-philanthropist doesn’t like to refer to his supporters as followers. “ Each one of them counts. I’ve heard people work towards building followers on Twitter, even pay to increase their followers. I’ve never had the time to cultivate followers because I don’t to look at my well-wishers as my support system, not my followers. They are the very important community in my life that helped me carry my mission forward of helping the distressed and the needy during pandemic . Gradually Twittter helped me connect with more and more people.’
Sonu feels there are two ways of looking at the social media. “It can be used to connect with people in a constructive way. Or it can be used to spread hatred and negativity. It is up to you how you want to use social media. I am glad that the number of people who want to connect with me on Twitter is increasing. I want to continue reaching out to people, no matter how many hurdles are placed in my way. There are no laws against helping the needy, thankfully.”
