Following his surprise appearance in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel fans are curious if Charlie Cox will once again reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, a new Spider-Man 4 rumor has finally surfaced online revolving around Daredevil’s potential involvement.
Will Daredevil appear in Spider-Man 4?
According to insider MyTimeToShine, Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil is currently not part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast, despite previous speculations. At the moment, it’s still unclear if Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios do have plans to potentially include another surprise cameo of the fan-favorite character later on the project’s production. Cox will next be seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie is led by MCU vet Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion.
In addition, Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo is also being rumored to reprise his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the fourth installment. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito. Production is currently underway in Glasgow, and at Pinewood Studios in England.
The movie will arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.
