This weekend, Kapil Sharma shot for his show without three of his most vital team members namely Sunil Grover , Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar.
Kiku Sharda ,for reasons best known to him, preferred to stay on the show.
The other three comic virtuosos stayed away from the shooting of the Kapil Sharma Show in protest against Sharma’s obnoxious midair drunken misconduct with Sunil Grover and Chandran Prabhakar.
Says a source from the comic team, “Sunil has decided not to return to the show. He is contractually bound with the Channel (Sony Entertainment) and not with Kapil Sharma’s production house. Sunil has already made it clear to Sony that he cannot return to the show after Kapil’s unruly conduct.”
The Channel is empathetic but understandably anxious to salvage the show and rescue it from its host’s ego. Apparently Kapil bragged to his team that he can make the show work even if all his colleagues decide to leave, since the show works because of him and him alone.
The other comic actors on The Kapil Sharma Show have decided to take up the Host’s arrogant challenge. Hence this weekend only Kiku Sharda turned up for recording.
Perhaps anticipating a famine of regular entertainers Sharma has begun to introduce new talent on the show. On Sunday in the episode featuring Vidya Balan and the Begum Jaan team, a new comedian came on the show for a good 10-15 minutes doing a take off on Sanjay Dutt.
Says a source close to the developments, “Clearly there are major upheavals happening on The Kapil Sharma Show. Sunil Grover won’t return. Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar too boycotted the show. That leaves only Kiku Sharda sharing the platform with Kapil Sharma.Of course Navjot Singh Sidhu who is very close to Kapil, also remains. But for how long?”
Sources say Sony Entertainment is keen to bring about a patch-up between Sharma and Grover. But Grover won’t budge.
Says a member of the comic team, “Kapil can now invent a new line-up of comedians on the show and abuse them out of the show….”
