It’s going to be a very decisive week for Sunil Grover who goes from Gutthi on Comedy Nights With Kapil to a new avatar on the new Kapil Sharma Show.
Coincidentally Sunil has a feature film on release this week as well. “It’s a Punjabi film called Baisakhi List with Jimmy Sheirgil and me as two jailbirds who plan an escape, and how horribly wrong it goes. The film gives me a chance to be funny and to make people cry.”
Sunil also has a Hindi release a week after The Kapil Sharma Show goes on air. “I’ve a very interesting role in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi. I had cameo in Tiger Shroff’s debut film Heropanti and now I am part of his second film.”
About the new avatar of Kapil Sharma’s show Sunil says, “We are all having a lot of fun re-inventing ourselves. Viewers want us to be the way we were on the other show. But that is not possible. But at the same time we’ve to ensure we don’t disappoint them.”
About Colors pitching Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani against The Kapil Sharma Show on the night that the latter makes its debut on Sony Entertainment, Sunil says, “Bajirao Mastani is formidable competition, no doubt. We are flattered by the competition. It shows how big our show is considered. It also shows how little faith the channel has in the other show (Comedy Nights Bachao).”
