Is there a tussle of interest brewing between producer Prernaa Arora and her co-producerBhushan Kumar of T Series over the casting of Yami Gautam in Battu Gul Meter Chalu, the Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam starrer which starts shooting next week?
Apparently Bhushan Kumar the T Series head honcho has informed Prernaa he is “not okay” with Yami Gautam’s casting in Batti Gul Meter Chalu which Prerna and Bhushan are jointly producing along with director Shree Narayan Singh.
While reasons for desiring Yami’s ouster from the project are not being discussed, sources say Yami had issues with Bhushan’s wife Divya Kumar while shooting for Sanam Re which Divya had directed.
Caught in this crossfire is Prernaa Arora who has to find a way to get over the Yami factor with her co-producers.
Says a source, “While Prernaa doesn’t want to offend Bhushan and his wife in any way since they’re both her friends, at the same time she can’t wriggle out of her commitment to Yami Gautam.”
When I asked Prernaa Arora about the casting crisis she laughed it off as no big deal. “There is no problem as such. There can never be any problem with T Series. They’re wonderful associates. Minor hiccups toh hotey hi rehte hain. It’s all a part and parcel of the creative process. We are all on the same page here.”
Incidentally, both Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam play lawyers in Shree Narayan Singh-directed Batti Gul Meter Chalu. It remains to be seen if Yami gets to stay in the court or gets expelled out of it.
