Tabu Is Not The  Romantic Lead With Salman Khan (She Never  Will Be)

Though vastly talented Tabu who is nearly a decade  younger than Salman Khan she  is not cast opposite  him  in their new film together Bharat.

Priyanka Chopra who is 20 years junior to Salman plays  his romantic interest  in Bharat.

Tabu is cast in what  is  known in Bollywood parlance  as  a ‘character’role. She won’t do any of  the things that heroines traditionally do in Hindi films, like sing romantic songs, dance and  do romantic scenes with the hero.

Apparently Tabu had grave misgivings about being cast in a Salman starrer in a role that was not the romantic lead.

“Initially Tabu wouldn’t say yes to Bharat.She  goodnaturedly cribbed  about never being cast opposite Salman in a  romantic role,” says  the source.

Tabu  was first seen with Salman in  Sajid Nadiadwala-Raj Kanwar’s Jeet where Karisma  Kapoor  walked away with leading man. They were again  cast together Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Saath  Hain. But not opposite one another. Salman was cast with Sonali Bhendre while  Tabu was with Mohnish Behl. More recently  in Salman’s home production Jai Ho she was cast as his sister.

 It is  disturbing to note that this  powerhouse actress has never been cast opposite  any of  the three Khan superstars Shah Rukh, Aamir or Salman. Too talented to handle?
