The Bachelor Mansion Gets Glow Up From HGTV

The Bachelor Mansion has seen a lot of roses handed out and a lot of hearts broken. And now it’s getting a glow up courtesy of HGTV.
According to a press release by producers of the Bachelor franchise, HGTV is creating a brand-new series with the working title, “Renovating the Bachelor Mansion.”
And here’s the twist. The renovators will be former contestants from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette!”
They’ll be competing in various design challenges to win a cash prizes.
Warner Bros Discovery Announces Show at Upfronts
Warner Brothers Discovery broke the news about the new show at their upfront presentation Wednesday, May 14.
And if you’re wondering why a Warner Bros Discovery channel like HGTV would focus on an ABC show, the answer is simple. Warner Bros. produces the “Bachelor” franchise for ABC.
Bachelor House Has a Diverse History
Believe it or not, a family lived in the Bachelor mansion for years when the show wasn’t filming.
In 2017, “Good Morning America” did a feature on the Haraden family, who would move out of the house twice a year and stay in a hotel for six weeks while their Agoura Hills, California home was used for “The Bachelor.”
“We move everything out, pack it up,” Marshall Haraden Sr. said in an interview with “Good Morning America” at the time.
Haraden is a contractor. In the 2017 interview, he said that he and his wife designed the house together and that he built it himself.
He also indicated that he hoped to build a second mansion close by, “I’ve got the dirt next door and I’ve got the plans, I just haven’t built it yet.”
Bachelor Mansion Has Served as an Airbnb Since 2020
Everything changed with the pandemic, when filming couldn’t take place at the Bachelor Mansion.
So it became an Airbnb! And it still is one.
The Airbnb listing says it’s hosted by “Nick.” Nick is the name of one of the Haraden family’s sons.
The Airbnb description reads, “Villa de la Vina, is the ideal place for your next getaway. Nestled on a beautiful 10 acre property, Villa de la Vina is situated within the Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu. It offers 10,000 square feet of interior space and 20,000 square feet of outside space. This 200 year-old Mediterranean-style revival house, with its one-of-a-kind pool and romantic archways, exudes the rich feeling of a picturesque hideaway with canyon, mountain and vineyard views.”
The statement that the house is 200-years-old doesn’t match with Haraden’s interview with “Good Morning America,” where he says he built the house.
As for amenities, fans of “The Bachelor” franchise can certainly tell you about the pool, the hot tub and the fireplace. But according to the Airbnb listing, there’s much more.
It reads, “The Mansion boasts 7 bedrooms (8 baths) with sleeping arrangements for over 13 guests if needed. We offer our guests more than just the home, we also supply our guests with access to one of the most famous pools in the world, two jacuzzis, a pool table, hand crafted furniture, eye popping views, and enormous outdoor space all perfectly packaged for your stay. We are the perfect place for your next vacation or event.”
The rental comes with some strict rules. The listing emphasizes “**Absolutely no parties, filming, professional photography or gatherings without approval from ownership in writing**. Intimate weddings okay with written approval**”
But the listing does not give a price, and shows no availability through the end of 2025.

No names have been announced as far as which former contestants will participate in the show.
But Warner Bros. did specify that the show will feature former “Bachelor” “and “Bachelorette” contestants “who possess expert reno skills.”
No air date for the show has been announced.
