With the three asterisks in between, the title effectively reads: The “Bads” of Bollywood. This has left many fans confused about the implied meaning.

The stars of The Ba***ds of Bollywood tried to explain the asterisks in the title of the Aryan Khan-directed show. It seems that the primary reason these were used was stylistic. It was also a concept that one can interpret after watching the series.
Speaking to Radio Nasha, series star Bobby Deol explained, “It is its concept, it is the way the show is written. When you watch the show, then when you look at the title, and you will understand. I remember when I did the film Gupt, people did not understand the title of the film, but then Kajol turned out to be the murderer, so then they understood why we named it Gupt.” (via News18)
Interestingly, the show did not have a title for a long time after it was conceived. Lakshya Lalwani explained this, “The type of show that it is, it’s very difficult to describe in one word. When you see the show, then you will find the meaning of ‘Ba**ds’ because you cannot define the show in one word or one line, because it is a vast, unique world that Aryan has set. Just like its story, the title is also very unique, and it catches attention. People will remember it.”
Raghav Juyal gave an explanation that would make sense to even those who have yet to catch the series. He elaborated, “They had to fit ‘Bads’ with ‘Bollywood,’ and that’s why they have put an asterisk in it. It was for aesthetic reasons.”
However, the show reveals the full title at the end, which appears on screen: “The B—–ds (meaning illegitimate child) of Bollywood.” The title directly ties into the plot. Lakshya Lalwani’s character, Aasmaan Singh, is revealed to be the son of superstar Ajay Talwar (played by Bobby Deol), from his past affair with Aasmaan’s mother Neeta (played by Mona Singh), who was a background dancer at the time in Bollywood.
Either way, because of its unique title and its unique approach, the show has already caught the attention of most.
