‘The Bold & the Beautiful’ To Change Filming Location After 38 Years

“The Bold and the Beautiful” is moving out of Television City.
The long-running CBS daytime drama is set to leave the Fairfax studio complex after almost four decades.
However, production of “The Bold and the Beautiful” will remain in Los Angeles. As first reported by Deadline, the crew is relocating just over 2 miles away to Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Hollywood.
The “B&B” team is set to begin filming at the new location after the show’s summer hiatus ends on August 19.
‘The Bold & the Beautiful’ Was One of The Last CBS Shows Still Filming in The Television City Studios
“It’s been an extraordinary 38 years at Television City, where we have produced over 9,600 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful,” the show’s executive producer and head writer Bradley Philip Bell told Deadline.
“As we look ahead, we’re excited to begin this next chapter at Sunset Las Palmas Studios — continuing our production in the heart of Hollywood and the great state of California,” Bell went on to say.
Las Palmas Studios are located within production company Sunset Studios’ Hollywood complex. After CBS Corporation sold the Television City property to real estate developer Hackman Capital Partners for $750 million in 2019, the network’s programs begun to relocate as their production contracts came to respective ends.
“The Price is Right,” which taped at Television City for over 50 years, relocated to Haven Studios in Glendale at the conclusion of their contract in 2023. “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” lease ends this year.
The departure of “The Bold and the Beautiful” will make its sister series “The Young and the Restless” the last CBS television production remaining at Television City. Sources told Deadline that “Y&R” still has a few years on their lease and no plans to move yet.
Television City Will Undergo Massive Changes Over the Next Three Years
Early this year, the Los Angeles City Council approved Hackman Capital Partners’ $1 billion expansion and renovation of the Television City compound with the hope of giving the city’s waning film and television industry a boost.
They plan to build 15 new stages, additional production offices, retail stores and a 15-story corporate tower, according to Variety. The construction is projected to take around three years to complete.
News of the “B&B” move comes just a few weeks after the show was renewed through the 2027-2028 television season. Meaning, the Emmy-award winning series will celebrate its 40th year while at Sunset Las Palmas.
Production is anticipated to bring the show’s current props and sets to the new studio, so fans can rest assured that Forrester Creations will likely look the same.
