The Challenge Champ Forced to ‘Retire’ After Gruesome Injury

Fresh off her triumphant win on season 40 of “The Challenge,” Jenny West is hitting pause on her reality TV career. The 37-year-old British powerhouse shared on Instagram that a rough tumble in Bali left her battered and briefly bedridden, revealing a scooter spill and a parasite illness knocked her flat. With stitches, bruises, and a tongue-in-cheek “retirement” announcement, West explained that she is taking a breather. Here’s the scoop on her wild mishap and what’s next for this fan-favorite champ.

A Bali Mishap Takes ‘The Challenge’ Champ Jenny West Down

West, who snagged her second Challenge title in season 40 of MTV’s gritty competition show, was soaking up the sun in Bali when disaster struck. Not once, but twice. First, she caught “some kind of parasite illness” that glued her to bed for two straight days.

Then, just as she started to recover, a scooter crash sent her tumbling and left her with bruises and bloody cuts that needed stitches.

She shared all of the gory details with an Instagram carousel post that featured pics of her bandaged arm and leg. Fans also got a final shot of her in bed with a towel over her forehead, as she flashed a sideways thumbs up.

“I’m briefly retiring from being an independent adult for the foreseeable and wrapping myself in cotton wool before they decide to cast me for ‘Final Destination 6,’” she quipped in her caption. Despite the chaos, West is still smitten with Bali, calling it a place that “already feels like home.”

From Total Madness to Season 40 Glory

West is no stranger to toughing it out. Born in Wigan, England, the personal trainer and bodybuilder first flexed her reality competition skills on the British show “Survival of the Fittest.” She then made the jump to “The Challenge” in War of the Worlds 2 before cementing her legacy in Total Madness — where she clinched the $500,000 prize with a dominating performance.

Showcasing her brute strength and puzzle-solving smarts, she finished with a 5-1 elimination record that included a legendary Hall Brawl.

After a brief hiatus, she returned for Battle of the Eras and won again alongside Rachel Robinson. With two victories in three seasons, she was quickly reaching GOAT status. But then, Bali threw a curveball.

‘The Challenge’ Castmates and Fans Rally Around Her

West’s Instagram post sparked a flood of support from fans, as well as her “Challenge” crew. Robinson, her season 40 co-champ, cheered, “Still fire!” while Tina Barta pointed out, “Your face is unscathed! That’s so lucky!” Heal up those wounds.”

Tori Deal dropped a sweet “Heal up sugar plum,” and fans chimed in with everything from “Gosh, hope you are ok!” to stern warnings like “Be careful on those motorbikes!”

West may be sidelined for now, but both castmates and fans are rooting for a speedy recovery so she can return and chase a third crown.

Past seasons of “The Challenge” are available on Paramount Plus. The current season of “The Challenge All Stars” airs Wednesday nights on MTV.
