The action thriller K-drama The Defects recently had a technical problem on the streaming platform TVING.
On May 5th, when the sixth episode of the K-drama The Defects was scheduled to premiere on TVING, the streaming platform mistakenly uploaded the eighth and final episode. Viewers had access to the finale for 20 minutes before the error was corrected and the episode was taken down.
TVING has issued an apology, stating, “The finale of the K-drama was temporarily revealed due to a meta-matching error during the video transmission process.” They sincerely apologized for the confusion and added, “We are taking this issue seriously. We are discussing ways to prevent this from happening again and will do our best to strengthen our internal system inspection and management.”
The Defects premiered on July 21, with its final two episodes scheduled to air on August 11 and 12. The K-drama has received both praise and criticism. While some viewers are critiquing Dex’s acting, others are criticizing the production team for casting Lee Na Eun due to her ongoing bullying controversy.

The Defects tells the revenge and the survival stories of children whose foster parents returned. It depicted its story on the webtoon of the same name, which was illustrated by Ryu Ga Myeong and written by Eom Se Yoon.
Yeom Jung Ah, Won Jin A, Choi Young Joon, DEX, Ahn Ji Ho, and more are the main leads of the series.
This is the latest work of director Oh Ki Hwan, who also worked on the K-drama How to Be Thirty and films Fashion King, A Wedding Invitation, Five Senses of Eros, and more.
The Defects airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM KST, exclusively on the ENA channel and the streaming platform TVING.
