The Dinesh Vijan-Imtiaz Ali Showdown

Not  all is well between  the  producer Dinesh Vjian who recently  had a spate  of hits , and  director  Imtiaz Ali who last few  film have been disasters. The two were fast friends for  years, having worked  together successfully in Love Aaj Kal in 2009.

Everything went  wrong when  Vijan and Ali decided to do  a sequel. Love Aaj Kal reloaded proved to be a curse for this  association.

Apparently Vijyan was  acutely unhappy with the end-product and  had a massive showdown with his   director.

Says an informed  source, “When Dinesh Vijan saw  the rushes he  was aghast. He  pointblank asked  Imtiaz what  had he done. As  a producer who had actively spun  hits  like Stree and Lukka ChuppiDinesh could instinctively sense  that Love Aaj kal had gone horribly wrong. But at that late stage  there was  little he could do.”

It therefore comes as  no surprise  to  Dinesh Vijan  that  Love Aaj Kal has  opened to scathing reviews and unfavourable audiences’ responses.While the  final outcome  of  Love Aaj Kal  at the  boxoffice remains  uncertain, what is certain is that this  producer and director will  never work together again.
