Netflix has released the main trailer for the third season of “Alice in Borderland,” offering a first look at the deadly games awaiting Arisu and Usagi. The hit Japanese series returns worldwide on September 25.

Season 3 follows Usagi as she is pulled back into the Borderland, forcing Arisu to enter the mysterious realm once more in an attempt to save her. Separated into different teams, the two must survive a new round of high-stakes challenges.

Yamazaki Kento, who plays Arisu, said the separation brings a fresh dynamic to the story. “Since Arisu and Usagi are split into separate teams, I found it interesting to see the different atmospheres and character dynamics within each group. Over the seasons, the characters have become so beloved by fans, and I think that’s why the audience can really empathize with them during the life-or-death moments.”

Tsuchiya Tao, who reprises her role as Usagi, revisited earlier seasons in preparation. “Everything Usagi has experienced in the past seasons is now part of her story, so whenever I needed to, I would go back and rewatch Seasons 1 and 2,” she said.

“With Season 3 featuring an original story, I felt it was important to approach this role with everything that’s happened so far in mind,” she added.

Among the new games teased, Yamazaki highlighted a visually striking scene at a shrine where flaming arrows rain down — adapted from a memorable sequence in the manga and brought to life with Japanese VFX  technology.

“When I read the manga, I was blown away by the flaming arrows, so when I saw the script for this scene, I thought, ‘It’s here!’” he excitedly said.

Tsuchiya pointed to the dice game featured in the trailer, saying it captures the core of the series.

“As the players become more desperate, everyone’s performances become more intense and dramatic. I think this game really captures the essence of ‘Alice in Borderland’ — it’s about life and death, and about discovering how you truly want to live,” she stressed.
