The Hunting Wives season 2 receives a major filming update from its lead star. The Netflix series premiered this past July, quickly captivated audiences with its risqué soap opera style, and was subsequently renewed for a second season in September.
Now, during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brittany Snow revealed that The Hunting Wives season 2 starts filming “in two weeks.” Read her full quote or watch the video below:
It’s happening. We start in two weeks, actually. I’m excited.
Created by Rebecca Cutter, based on the 2021 novel of the same name by May Cobb, the Netflix series stars Brittany Snow as Sophie O’Neil, a wife and mother who moves to the fictional East Texas town of Maple Brooke and is drawn into the dangerous and glamorous world of an elite clique, the Hunting Wives, and becomes entangled in a web of obsession, seduction, and murder when a teenage girl is found dead in the woods where they meet.
With Brittany Snow in the lead role, the cast also includes Malin Akerman as Margo, the leader of the Hunting Wives, alongside Emmy nominee Evan Jonigkeit (Stand for Rights), Katie Lowes, George Ferrier, Dermot Mulroney, Oscar winner Jaime Ray Newman (Skin), and Emmy nominee Chrissy Metz (This Is Us).
The Hunting Wives season 2‘s synopsis reads, “Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?“
In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Brittany Snow said that The Hunting Wives season 2 will be even “crazier” than season 1:
We start in a couple weeks, in the beginning of November, so it’s definitely happening and I’ve heard some whisperings of what the show is going to be about this season and somehow it’s crazier than last year.
The Hunting Wives season 1 received positive reviews, resulting in a Certified Fresh 76% score on Rotten Tomatoes, combined with a 61% audience score, with critics calling it a provocative drama that transforms scandalous antics into irresistibly binge-worthy entertainment, with wickedly entertaining performances from Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman.
In its first week of release, the series ranked third on Netflix’s Global Top 10 shows with 5.2 million views, and for the week of July 25–31, The Hunting Wives was the most-streamed show in the United States with over 2 billion minutes viewed.
