'The Trauma Code' in talks for Season 2, Netflix comments

Netflix issues a statement, commenting on the possibility of a new season of its hit series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.

Earlier today, Korean news outlet Xports News reported that Netflix has confirmed the production of Seasons 2 and 3 of the medical K-drama.

However, a Netflix representative told Edaily on September 23, “We are reviewing the production of a sequel to The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Previously, the author of the webnovel from which the series is adapted, writer Lee Nak Joon, mentioned on his YouTube channel that the “drama was made with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind.” As such, anticipation for the new season is rising.

Released in January, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows Baek Gang Hyeok (Ju Ji Hoon), a genius surgeon who has performed surgeries even in the most chaotic conflict zones. He takes on the mission of leading the underfunded and sidelined Trauma Team at a university hospital.

The K-drama gained immense popularity on Netflix and also won numerous awards. At the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, Ju Ji Hoon won Best Actor in the TV category. At the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, the series bagged three accolades, with Choo Young Woo winning Best New Actor, Ju Ji Hoon winning Best Actor, and the drama taking home Best Drama.
