For the first time, the main characters will be interacting with one another, and potentially helping each other through their toughest times. “This is the first season in which we take all of those main characters and we smash them together,” show creator Simon Kinberg told TechRader. “So it’s kind of like our low-key Avengers season where they get to actually team up. The combinations and collisions of the characters is something I’ve been looking forward to really since conceiving them however many years ago.”

Also new this season is the alien development itself. Moving away from how the world is reacting to the invasion, this season threatens the end of humanity altogether, two years after their initial invasion took place. And, this time around, the aliens have evolved, both physically and physiologically. “What I saw is new, more powerful,” Travante (Anderson) asserts in the Season 3 trailer. “And they’re not done.”
