Love Island USA season 7 is coming to a close, and while this Islander has been in the villa since the beginning, their insecurities have been keeping them closed off from forming genuine connections throughout the season. As Love Island USA season 7 gets ready to shut the villa doors, it’s clear that some Islanders were more prepared for the experience than others.
Despite knowing that they were going into an intense experience that would see them searching for love with their fellow Islanders, Love Island USA season 7’s cast has been struggling to find their footing. Between Chelley Bissainthe & Ace Greene’s accusations of scheming the season to the tough moments of Islanders using racist language getting them booted from the villa, Love Island USA’s been overwhelming.
While some have been prepared for the intensity of emotions that comes with building fast, isolated romantic bonds, others have been struggling to figure out how to cope with the influx of emotions or communicate their complicated feelings. For Islanders like Huda Mustafa, who faced a genuinely difficult match at the beginning of the season, the chance of a real connection is slipping away.
Huda & Chris’ Connection Is Strong
They’ve Built A Decent Relationship
Meeting Chris Seeley during Casa Amor week was a godsend for Huda, who was struggling in the villa after her first weeks coupled up with Jeremiah Brown. Huda’s connection with Chris has been one of the healthier relationships Love Island USA season 7 has featured, but that healthy communication Chris inspires in Huda highlights a lot of the issues she seems to have.
While Huda’s been coupled up with Chris for the second half of the season, things have been popping up in the most recent days of their time on Love Island USA that have left viewers struggling to root for them. With Chris looking for direct communication and understanding, Huda’s deep insecurities in the way men treat her have shown themselves consistently.
Chris, an international professional basketball player who has openly shared he’s looking to start a new life back in the states, has tried to be clear and concise with Huda, but her reads on what he’s saying or doing have caused their relationship to struggle. While their connection is something they both clearly want, Huda could lose Chris if she doesn’t recognize her issues.
Huda’s Still Insecure Around The Villa After Jeremiah
Her First Connections Was A Tough One
During the early days of Love Island USA, Huda was coupled up with Jeremiah, who she took a liking to on day one. While Jeremiah was clearly interested in Huda, it was also obvious to anyone outside of their match that he was love bombing her from the start. With intense feelings brewing, Huda and Jeremiah burned bright and fell fast.

Now, it’s clear that Huda is trying to do anything she can to avoid the crash out she felt after Jeremiah began pursuing other connections. While Huda’s valid for trying to be sure that she doesn’t repeat problematic patterns, it’s also become clear that Jeremiah wasn’t the only difficult relationship she’s had. Huda’s past experiences have helped create the behavior she brings to the villa.
Huda Shouldn’t Have Been Cast Without Acknowledging Her Trauma
She Clearly Has Insecurities From Past Relationships
While Huda’s been troubling in some of her behavior, it clearly comes from unresolved issues in her past. Huda struggles with her partners paying attention to other women in any capacity and has a hard time when someone she’s interested doesn’t appear to “pick” her, even when it’s clear they’re not doing anything out of the ordinary. With Huda’s issues, Love Island USA wasn’t the best choice.
Though Huda has been through nearly the entire season, her time on Love Island USA has been drastically different than other Islanders’. Huda has gone through intense emotions that have exacerbated her issues, and after Love Island USA, she should take the time to heal. While she may lose her Love Island USA love connection, she can still benefit from the experience.
Love Island USA airs every night at 9 p.m. EDT on Peacock, except Wednesdays.
