TVING action thriller 'Shark 2: The Storm' unveils premiere date

The TVING original Shark 2: The Storm has confirmed its release date for May 15.
Continuing from where the prequel — Shark: The Beginning — left off, Shark 2: The Storm follows Cha Woo Sol (Kim Min Seok), who is training to become a mixed martial artist after his release from prison, battling against the ruthless Hyun Woo Yeong (Lee Hyun Wook). Having fought to survive, Cha Woo Sol overcomes fear and pushes boundaries, growing stronger. Now, to protect those precious to him, he battles a new kind of “evil”.
Adapted from a webtoon of the same Korean name, the prequel was a TVING original movie. Now, four years after its release, the production returns as a six-episode-long K-drama.
The poster portrays Cha Woo Sol facing off against Hyun Woo Yeong. Despite being battered, but not beaten, Cha Woo Sol keeps his fist up, ready to fight.
The text, “I will fight, like a shark that never stops,” foreshadows the bloodshed to come.
Whereas, Hyun Woo Yeong’s sinister and gangsterly look hints he is a force to be reckoned with.
The text on his poster reads, “Cha Woo Sol, this is totally destiny.”
Cha Woo Sol is a young man who dreams of becoming a mixed martial artist. Having survived a hellish life by pushing past his limits, he dreams of starting anew after serving his sentence. Despite the stigma of being an ex-convict, he lives each day diligently and works for a better life. But, he faces another storm in his way — Hyun Woo Yeong.
Hyun Woo Yeong recognized the talent of the villainous Bae Seok Chan (Jung Won Chang) and recruited him into the organization. Hyun operates illegal leagues and is the boss of the organization and the president of the MMA association.
He is the kind of villain who plays brutal, violent games purely for the thrill.
Shark 2: The Storm is coming May 15. News about the K-drama’s global OTT is yet to come.
