Disney+Hotstar’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4, two of the most talked-about international series have been persuaded to make changes following the savage massacre of children in a Texas school.
Both the highly-anticipated series contain scenes of suggested, though by no means graphic, violence against children. Both have added disclaimers regarding violence against children after the Texas shocker.
And this is just the beginning. Apparently the major OTT platforms and cinema will follow supremely stringent guidelines regarding the way children are treated
Pahlaj Nihalani who was the former chairperson of the Central Board Of Film Certification says violence against children is strictly forbidden. “Not even a parent slapping a child is permitted. I remember there was film directed by Rakeysh Mehra where a minor was shown using a gun. It took a lot of discussion to find a solution, as deleting it would have damaged the film.”
