Uma Thurman’s New Netflix Movie Gives Her A Kill Bill Replacement After 21 Years Of Waiting For A Tarantino Sequel

The following contains spoilers for The Old Guard 2.Quentin Tarantino’s two-part action thriller movie, Kill Bill, stars Uma Thurman as assassin Beatrix Kiddo, also known as the Bride, and follows her bloody quest for revenge after she awakens from a coma, having been put there by the person she loved. Over the past 21 years, there have been confirmations and disappointments about a potential threequel, but so far, there’s no active plan to develop Kill Bill Volume 3, leaving its fate in limbo.

Thurman’s action sequences and sword fight scenes are highlights in the two-part movie. While she has gone on to star in many other movies, the star has taken a break from action roles. It wasn’t until recently that she returned to the genre with a new Netflix movie, The Old Guard 2, starring opposite Charlize Theron.

While talking to Jimmy Fallon, the Kill Bill star admitted that she stepped away from the action genre to preserve her legacy, but when the offer of The Old Guard 2 came along, she saw an opportunity to return. In the same interview, the actor also revealed that Theron’s performance in the first movie was what drew her to the villainous role.

Adapted from Greg Rucka’s graphic novel of the same name, the 2020 Netflix Original film sees a team of immortal mercenaries fighting to keep their identity a secret while stumbling upon a new member. The new sequel takes place after the events in the original movie and sees Thurman’s first Immortal, Discord, on a personal mission, going against Andy (Cheron) and her team.
